| Program Administration Mary E. D'Alton, MD Willard C. Rappleye Professor Chair, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology Director of Services, Sloane Hospital for Women As Chair, Dr. Mary E. D'Alton oversees every area of research, teaching, and patient care with the assistance of Sloane Hospital's management team. She believes in excellence at every level and is dedicated to the goal of making this one of the finest training programs in the nation. Dr. D'Alton earned her degree in Medicine at the National University of Ireland in Galway and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Ottawa in Canada. She was a Fellow in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine and a Post-doctoral Fellow in the Perinatal Unit of the Yale University School of Medicine. She was named Chair of Sloane Hospital for Women in 2003. Richard L. Berkowitz, MD Director, Residency Training Dr. Richard L. Berkowitz completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at New York Hospital - Cornell University Medical Center. Now a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology here at Columbia University Medical Center, Dr. Berkowitz currently serves as Director of our Residency program. He is internationally known as an expert in fetal diagnosis and therapy and has a special expertise in the management of high order multiple pregnancies. Rini Banerjee Ratan, MD Assistant Director, Residency Training Dr. Rini Banerjee Ratan completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology here at Columbia University Medical Center since 2003 and, along with Dr. Berkowitz, serves as Assistant Director of the Residency program.
